MANUSCRIPT EVALUATIONS
This service is available only to people who attend the conference. Do not send a manuscript before you register or without a completed cover sheet.

The conference fee includes one free manuscript evaluation (strengths, weaknesses, marketability); one additional evaluation is $20. (Total submissions is two.) Manuscripts must be mailed in advance to be received by May 17; we will not accept any at the conference. However, individual appointments and evening critique groups provide opportunities for feedback from editors and other writers.

Follow These Guidelines
A manuscript may be one of these:
  • nonfiction article (about 1,500 words maximum)
  • book chapter (first chapter if it’s a novel, about 10 pages maximum; if it’s longer than that, divide it into two chapters)
  • short story (about 1,500 words maximum)
  • script (maximum 10 pages)
  • screenplay (first pages only, maximum 10 pages)
  • lesson plan
  • book proposal without sample chapters
  • devotional (or group of short devotionals, maximum three)
  • group of poems (maximum five)
  • group of greeting cards (maximum 10)
All manuscripts must be typed double-spaced, 12-point font, with no combining of manuscripts to reach the limit. Include your name, address, and e-mail address on the first page.

Click here for manuscript format or book proposal outline.

Enclose a check with the second manuscript, payable to WordPro.

Each manuscript must have a completed cover sheet; click here to download.

Fasten the pages with a paper clip; do not put them in a folder or notebook. Mail your manuscripts to Jane Rubietta, Write-to-Publish, 225 Bluff Avenue, Grayslake, IL 60030-2312. If you have any questions about manuscripts, e-mail Jane at jrubietta @ sbcglobal.net.
